Road Racing Course:
The Road Racing circuit starts outside Distinction's Nugget Point Hotel over looking the Shotover River. After a very steep initial descent of Littles Road riders face the first difficulty as they rise steeply off the valley floor away from the Shotover with a short punchy climb containing a nasty ramp of 18%. An entertaining series of twists and turns follows with a couple more kicks to help any opportunist escapees. The long, flat, open straights of Speargrass Flat should however make for interesting tactical game as the bunch speeds along with the prevailing wind before the second difficulty of the course at the far end with the ascent of McIntyre's Hill.
Not to be underestimated, McIntyre's will spit out any attacking riders who don't approach with a little caution particularly in the latter laps of the race. A gradual decent flows back onto Malaghans Road where riders then have 13km to ride back to the next lap/finish. The run into the finish is a complicated one with some rolling road, sweeping corners, then a descending and rising sprint to spice up the game. Its a true championship course that can suit many types of riders, from punchy sprinters to aggressive opportunists. Don't be surprised if a brave underdog escapes and steals the coup!
Elite Men and U23 Men TT Course

Time Trial Course:
The Elite TT riders will start outside Distinction's Nugget Point Hotel over looking the Shotover River. After negotiating 2km of gently rolling, curvy, shaded road riders will be faced with a exposed generally flat and fast course to the end of Mulaghans Road near the beautiful and historic Arrowtown. For the Women and Junior Men the out and back circuit is simply followed back to the finish, though be sure to save something in reserve if the prevailing wind picks up and makes the run home a bit of a push! For the Elite and U23 Men an added 10km will be down a short but steep Hunters Road followed by fast hedge lined time trailing to another turn around. The run back up Hunter's will sort out those who have some left in reserve and may even suit a climbing style of Time Trial rider who has lost ground earlier on the power sections of the course.
For Men and Women of all age groups the courses suit a wide variety of riders and will certainly produce exciting racing and a worthy Champion on the day.
